When the message stands in the queue with the empty sender, then it's
likely to be a bounce (that is, diagnostic indicating temporary or
permanent delivery failure, or some other machine-generated stuff). It
could also be the spam message. While the sender of the message is
empty, it's From: header could be present and carry additional
information regarding the originator.
To determine the exact originator and meaning of such a message, one may
examine it's contents using the technique given in my previous summary.
To emit such messages manually, one may:
1) run Exim with -bs switch and say MAIL FROM: <>
2) run Exim with -bm and -f '' args.
