You need to read more carefully what SPF is all about. AOL's
postmaster.aol.com site gives a reasonable overview.

AOL will start to respect SPF records for domains it receives mail from. If
you are responsible for the DNS for a domain, you can add SPF records to
your domain's DNS to indicate what relays AOL (and anyone else) should
accept mail through for your domain.

You only need your MTA to support SPF in any shape or form if you want to
act on other peoples' SPF records.
