Subject: [Exim] Exim
I have searched all night, but i can't figure this
out. I want to configure my exim in the following
manner:

I use a single workstation where I receive and store
mail (and all other real local users, like root,
postmaster, mail, also receive mail). I *don't* want
users who are on nis to recieve mail at my machine, I
do want them to be able to log in, etc (so taking
+:::: entries out of the passwd file isn't an option)

I am doing fine as long as I qualify every domain --
i.e., sending mail is working fine. The trick comes
in that if I ever send an unqualified address, I don't
want that to end up on my machine (except for real
local users that are in the passwd file) -- I want it
to be passed along to the smarthost.

I have unset qualify_domain so it is putting my
hostname on unqualified addresses. I guess it would
work something like this:

some kind of rewriting rule that says "if user does
not exist in the passwd file or in the aliases file,
append x.y.z domain". That would then be passed along
to the proper transport (smarthost). I just can't
figure out how to write that rule. The rules I write
always end up picking up the nis users as well, which
screws up all my work!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. (please leave
me in the Cc list as I am not subscribed).

leppi.
