The best advice, if you think this is really what needs tuning, is to
_not_ run the caching nameserver on the same local server as the MTA
(unless you have a multi-CPU machine which always has some idle CPU time
and which can do context switching faster than your average Intel junk).

Instead run your caching nameserver on another (dedicated) host on your
LAN (perhaps even with a private LAN interface though these days with
100baseT/FDX interfaces and fully switched LANs that shouldn't be
necessary).
