I've tried that, and it all looks dandy to me, except for the errormessage
about exim not beeing able to create spoolfile:

root@eryx:~> /pack/exim-4.05/bin/exim -d -C
/etc/eximmail/exim_outgoing.conf -q30m
Exim version 4.05 uid=0 gid=0 pid=28787 L=834cd8 D=fff7577f

2002-07-17 11:56:48 Failed to create spool file
/var/spool/exim_outgoing/input//17UlY8-0007WK-00-D: Permission denied

The errormessage arrives as exim tries to create the vacation message, and
it is written to the terminal even when debug is not enabled. mainlog
says:
2002-07-17 11:56:48 17UlY1-0007Vt-00 => svend <svend@???>
R=virtual_users T=local_delivery
2002-07-17 11:56:49 17UlY1-0007Vt-00 == svend@??? R=user_vacation
T=vacation_reply defer (0): Failed to send message from vacation_reply
transport (1)

Could you think of anything else that I could do to try to find the cause
of this? Perhaps I should mention that I run exim on Solaris 8.

Regards

-Michael
