qmail isn't Free[1]. sendmail is vastly more complex (I don't
understand it). exim is Free and easy enough to understand and
flexible enough to do what you want it to.

Dan Bernstein (qmail's author) only gives permission for qmail
to be distributed in source form, or binary for by approval.
This package has been put together to allow people to easily
build a qmail binary package for themselves, from source.
Basically you can't redistribute qmail, which is why it isn't
packaged and ready-to-go (exim is though).
