I seem to remember a message on her concerning the permissibility of
various characters in a Netscape Communicator running on a Mac.
Traditionally, Netscape Communicator has stripped out a "@" and anything
following it from the username field, rending various problems with
'virtual mail' servers that need person@domain as a username.
I used to work around this by using person:domain intead, and arranging
for the server to recognize that in addition to the person@domain..
However, now it seems that at least one recent version of Communicator
now also prohibits colons.
I recently saw a message on this list that I thought contained an
instruction on a way to set the offending Netscape to permit either a
colon or an @.. but I can't find it.
Could either the poster or anyone that saw it replay it back to me?
