Author: Phil Chambers Date: To: exim-users Subject: [Exim] case in rewriting
I can't understand how I have not noticed this before now, perhaps because it has
not caused a problem yet.
This applies to version 3.22 and I have confirmed the same with 3.16.
Section 49.15 says case is preserved for the local parts of remote addresses, but
the rewriting rules do not do that. If you put in a rewriting rule:
*@some.remote.dom.ain $1@???
Then exim -brw User@???
produces a value of "user@???" for all the lines of output. So it
appears that $1 uses the lower-case version of the matched string. (This is
independent of the value for locally_caseless.)
Presumably this a bug?
Phil.
