The argument goes like this: You have routed this message to a specific
host by name. However, that host does not exist. Therefore, this looks
like a configuration error which should be brought to the attention of
the postmaster, and also, there is no point in keeping on retrying.

This happens only when the DNS lookup yields "no such host". It should
not happen if there are just DNS problems like timeouts, etc.

You can, however, change the behaviour by setting host_find_failed.

Hmm. Just had a thought. I suppose if you said "byname" and it did a DNS
lookup that timed out, gethostbyname() might yield "no such host".
