Subject: [Exim] Exim 3.02 smtp session hangs (name/ip resolv problems?)
Hi folks,

I used Exim 2.x for more that a year for my dialup system
before I've updated to Exim 3.02 recently.

Unfortunately Exim 3.02 hangs for several minutes every time
a SMTP session is started (i.e. the SMTP session hangs) FIF
an internet dialup connection is up.

I run a Debian i386 linux system; kernel 2.2.9;
Package exim_3.02-[34].deb

The hanging seems to be not related to exim.conf settings.

Has anybody the same problems?

I use an exim.conf autoconverted for v3 by the eximconfig script; but
the very behaviour is present with a vanilla 3.02 exim.config, too.

If no ISP connection is up, everything works fine.
